Important Information Regarding the Renewal of Your License

People holding a Hoisting License must renew their license by obtaining continuing education credits every two years.  

  • You can complete your required con ed for your license renewal any time within the 2-year license period.
  • Go to www.mahoistinglicense.com to take your con ed course.
  • When course is completed, save your con ed certificate to your computer. 
  • Scan your valid DOT medical card. Make sure it does NOT expire within four months.
  • Save all your documents as indivudual PDF's.
  • Name files to match the documents and upload them individually.
  • Have your hoisting license number available.
  • Have a credit card available for your $60 renewal fee.

Hoisting license requirements & recent changes


Changes to the Massachusetts Hoisting Continuing Education took place in 2016.  At this time, Continuing Education requirements are:

  • Regulatory training must be completed once.
  • Specific Equipment training must be completed for each licenses grade.

To renew a license, the following licenses require two-hours of regulatory training Con Ed and two-hours of equipment specific:

1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 3A
